Well it fell through. Crazy as it sounds his mom won't let him sell it as she uses it to haul manure and gardening shit. Whatever. But the dude is a mechanic and a very good friend of mine. He told me "Give me a budget, year range and vehicle preference and we can go from there"

So there you go. I want to spend between 2 and 5 thousand including repairs to get a classic that I can drive from his house in Spokane to my house in Toronto.

What do you guys recommend? It needs to be reliable for the drive up. That's my one biggest concern. I was thinking about a Porsche 914 because it's as close as I can get to a 60's Porsche. Thoughts?

The 914 is going up pretty fast in value. Most decent ones go for $6,000+ currently. Shit, barely running ones at $4,000+ and completely fucked ones at around $2,000+

That's just based on my Craigslist findings.
